Network International launches region’s first EMV compliant mobility device

Accepts payments on the go, offering great convenience to merchants and customers alike

Dubai, UAE; December 15, 2012: Network International , one of the leading payment solutions providers in the Middle East, today announces that it will commence a pilot project to launch the region’s first EMV Compliant Mobility device, enabling customers to make payments using credit or debit cards at their homes. The pilot project will be conducted with selected merchants in the region such as ARZ Restaurants and The Room Service Group.

In partnership with Synergistic Financial Networks, Network International has developed an innovative secure solution that promises to open up new opportunities for mobile commerce and drive greater efficiencies for merchants across the region. The EMV security standard is considered the most secure form of transaction by both Visa and MasterCard, and would require the customer to enter the PIN and sign on the mobility device for purchases.

” Network International continues to play a leading role in transforming the UAE’s payment service industry, and today’s announcement further validates that commitment,” said, Bhairav Trivedi, Chief Executive Officer, Network International . ” Network International can proudly claim to be one of the most innovative card payment service providers in the Middle East and Africa regions that leads industry growth through the introduction of various new-to-market payment solutions, and modern processing methods.”

Mr. Trivedi added: ” Network International ‘s cost-effective small business and home delivery mobility solution is an industry first initiative, which enables seamless acceptance of credit and debit cards anywhere at any time. We look forward to developing this technology further with our clients and technology partners.”

The concept of mobility is especially appealing for many of Network International ‘s existing merchant customers who deliver products and services to the homes of their customers. Through this robust cost-effective technology, Network International connects an EMV reader to the merchants’ mobile phone, enabling them to accept card payments on the go.

Kamal Hail Salah, General Manager of ArzLebanon Restaurants, said: “We are very excited about this facility, which clearly benefits our valued home delivery customers, giving them the option and convenience of paying by debit or credit cards.”

Amer Arab, Managing Director of Room Service Deliveries, said: “We are looking forward to the prospect of providing our delivery staff with a smaller and lighter point of sale device. The planned evolution of this type of device promises to soon fit into a shirt pocket.”

“The popularity of smartphones has revolutionised the payments industry in numerous ways, and we are confident that both customers and merchants will gain tremendous efficiencies through this innovative technology,” said, Paolo Zambonini, EVP – Products, Network International . “This pilot will further open up opportunities to many entrepreneurs and shop owners who historically found traditional point of sale devices very expensive. At Network International , we believe that this pilot is a forerunner to even more portable EMV compliant solutions, which will transform the way mobile commerce takes place in the UAE.”
